Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo

Off to see Cinderella at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre.  I worked really hard to give her Cinderella hair.  After a lot of teasing, spraying, and bobby pins it looked pretty good.  However, it didn't take long for it to start unraveling.  Most importantly, she loved it.

We went to the show with our neighbors Abby and Kim Harrigton.  The Deschamp girls were sick and couldn't make it :(  We also ran into our friends Macey and Morgan Ulrich.  Cinderella-rific photo op.

At our seats, we snacked on rice krispie treats and apple juice.

She met Prince Charming and Cinderella after the show.  After her turn, she said she wanted to go back and say goodbye to Prince Charming.  She was even fluttering her lashes as she said it.  Oh my, God be with us.

Abby and Greta after the show.  We are so thrilled to have Abby as our new neighbor (and her mommy too).

Carving Memories

Not that anyone would notice but me, but just relaized I wore the same shirt and hairstyle for last year's pumpkin carving.  This look must put me in the jack-o-lantern mood.

She did NOT like the slimy pumpkin guts on her hands.  I seem to remember a similar experience last year.

KFG 2013

The past 4 years, the Keevers and Smiths have headed south for a "Keever Family Gathering" fall break in Brown County.  This year, we improvised a little and spent some quality time in Mom and Dad's new house!  They took possession just a few weeks ago, so it was time to celebrate.  The furniture was limited, but we made it work with lawn chairs and folding tables.  Grandma Marilyn joined us for the weekend and we really enjoyed spending undivided time with her.  The kids loved having her there and I think she enjoyed them as well.

The girls playing games in the basement.
The kids had a huge playspace in the basement...2400 empty square feet. They loved it.

Greta and Grandma playing Hi Ho Cherry-O.
I love when little ones create precious photo ops without even trying.

It wouldn't be a KFG without Scrabble.

Story time with Grandma Mary before their sleepover.

I just love this picture.  This takes me back to my Kilmer cousin sleepovers of years past.  We had to laugh because with all the cozy nooks in the basement, they chose to sleep in front of the sliding door.  Especially funny since they are three big scaredy cats! They couldn't wait to turn the lights out so they could use their glow necklaces.  They were all very tired the next morning...especially because Greta wouldn't stop talking (said the older kids).  That doesn't surprise me for a minute.

The kids slept over, but the parents went home to sleep.  When I came back in the morning, this is the child I found. Rocking out on Papa Mike's drum in her underwear.  Oh goodness...

The kids enjoying lunch with Grandma in the sun room.

We visited Stuckey Farms apple orchard.  The kids giving us their best ghost impressions.

After a no-sleep sleepover and a fun-filled day, this little peanut fell asleep in the car.  After carrying her in she slept on my lap for an hour and a half.  This never happens so I was soaking it in.  Just wish I would have thought to take off my scarf before we sat down.  Phew it was hot.

Zoo Booooooo

The Keevers and Smiths invaded the zoo for the annual Zoo Boo celebration.  Luckily the Bears had a Monday night game, so Jace was present in mind and spirit.  Other Bears fans must have declared it family day as well because we saw alot of Bears appearal.  It was a B-E-A-utiful day and although very very crowded, it was a nice time.

Da' Bears

Greta really loves Bears game day.  Jace does a good job of pumping her up so his enthusiasm is matched.  She actually stays with him for the majority of the game and cheers when he does.  She hasn't quite grasped that there are many different teams.  She yells "Go Bears" anytime she sees a game on tv. It sure is cute to watch them together.

Sous Chef

She loves to cook and asks to help all the time.  Depending on my level of patience, I oblige.  Spaghetti is one of her favorites to help with. Emptying cans, sprinkling spices, and stirring the sauce are among her many talents.

Leaves!

We are entering our second Fall with...the leaves.  Though we love our wooded lot, we were admtitedly naive about the work involved.  We have one season under our belt and we are ready with new equipment and new techniques.  Greta is reminding us that the leaves aren't all bad and there is a lot of fun to be had. I have to agree with her.

Greta and Macey Ulrich running for the pile.  Ready...set...go!

Close up of their faces.  Love it!

I love the airborn pony tail.

Cozy in the leaves.
