Man of the House

1996.  This is my husband, father to my child, and the provider of my household.  I must have had a pretty keen eye if I could see the man my husband would become in the boy in this picture.  He is appearantly flashing his loyalties to the "West Siiiiide"...which is interesting because he actually lived on the North side of our big city....errr town.  Either way, it is clear he was someone to be reckoned with.

I laugh at this pic every time I see it and laugh even harder when I picture Greta bringing home her own man-in-progress to meet her father.  Ahhh, the circle of life.

Mom...Dad...I don't know what you were so worried about???

Bear Down

The jocks always go for the blonde cheerleaders...

She decided to give me a taste of my own camera-obsessed medicine.

I asked her to show me her teeth (as in smile) and this is what she did.
I forgot how literal two-year-olds are.

Twice as Nice

Our little girl is two years old and it officially ends her life as a "baby".  On the day before her birthday, we celebrated with a Sock Monkey party.

Snow Fun

Quirks

Not only is Greta the cutest little girl around (my unbiased opinion), she is also the funniest.  We love her personality.  It is equally hilarious and frustrating.  So, in order to remember her fabulousness, I'm going to record some our favorites:

  • Poop=Poot
  • Ladybug=Babybug
  • Peaches=Peeses
  • Home=Hone
  • Pizza=Cpah
  • Pancakes=Cancakes
  • Cupcakes=Cuhcakes
  • Pumpkin=Punkett
  • Bottle=Bobble
  • On=Off
  • Barbie=Bobby
  • Box=Bock
  • I love you=I you
She has recently been responding to almost everything with "No Tank You".  She uses this in every context to show her disapproval.  Greta, it's time for nap....No Tank You.  Greta, Mommy is going to the store...No Tank You.  She also uses this when she doesn't like what is on TV, when you are tickling her, and my personal fav, when I am dancing for her.  She emphatically says "No Tank You!"

She has also been calling me Honey lately.  We are guessing she gets this from Jace.  It makes me laugh every time.

She looooves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and is obsessed with Minnie Mouse.

She loves to color and she is pretty particular in how she does it.  She empties the bin of all the books and crayons and stands inside of it to color.  She's our "special" girl :)

Mother Hen

Greta is such a nurturer.  She loves tending to her baby dolls, stuffed animals, and anything else she can find.  According to her sitter, she even has taken to mothering the new friend at daycare who is 3 yrs old and a head taller than her.  She doesn't care who or what it is, she is a mother hen.
