Here Comes Santa Claus...
This has been such a fun Christmas. Greta is enthusiastic about all aspects of Christmas. She is very inquisitive about the Nativity and often asks where Jesus is. I told her he lives in heaven and he also lives in her heart. I should have stuck with heaven...the heart thing really went over her head. She pulled up her shirt, rubbed her belly, and said "Jesus lives in here and then he'll come out of my boo-boo and grow up to be a little boy." To clarify, this is the story of her birth. One positive of a big abdominal incision is I can show her where she came out. She likes this story and has adapted it to Jesus as well.
Now, as for Santa, he is pretty special too. We have two Santas in our entry and she likes to spend time with them often. One she carries around like a baby and the other plays music that she likes to sit and listen to on the stairs. She also cracks us up when she does her Santa impression. She tries to make her girlie/two yr old voice really low and say "Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas". I really need to capture this on video.
We went to the Children's Musuem to visit Santa and enjoy all the Jolly Days fun. She told Santa she wanted a pink kitchen sink and a train. She has been asking for a pink kitchen for a month, but when she got to Santa, it came out "kitchen sink". The train addition was a new one too. Guess Santa better get on that one too.

She waited so patiently in line. Here she is on deck :)
She ran right up to him without any hesitation.
When she got there, she was very serious and quiet. Star struck.
Ice fishing with Daddy.
Brushing the reindeer.
Serving Daddy in the kitchen.
Down the big slide with Daddy.

Preschool Christmas Celebration
The kids performed their Christmas songs for us. The finished up by singing Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus.
This is how a two-year-old performs :)
Snack time with some of her friends.
Playing Cold Snowball (aka Hot Potato) next to her best bud Chase.
All of Greta's Christmas crafts from class. They all mean so much to this proud Mama. B-E-A-utiful!

Breakfast with Baby Jesus
Our church had a cute Saturday morning event for the kids. Breakfast, crafts, dress-up, and pictures with Baby Jesus and Mary. She had her choice of costume...shepherd, wiseman, and angel. She chose the angel and had her picture with Baby Jesus. She loved him so much she went back a second time to see him.

Family Photos 2011
Once again, my gracious and talented friend, Stacey, took our family photos. She claims to be an amateur, but we are always thrilled with her results. My main observations, Jace and I are both grayer. However, one of us colors her hair and the evidence is hidden.

O Christmas Tree
Today was Christmas Tree day. We started with lunch at Bub's Burgers in Carmel and then hit the Salsbery Bros. Nursery for our tree. We weren't sure what our new routine would be in our new town, but I think we stumbled upon a nice tradition for years to follow.

Fa la la la la
From the first time we saw this house, I envisioned this for Christmas. I have always loved this look and I just knew this house would be perfect for it. A little bit of Google research helped me out and the project was pretty easy. The first two wreaths took me an hour, but I got my groove and finished the project in another hour. There is a candle inside each wreath and I'm anxious to see them all lit. Merry Christmas!

Alice in Wonderland
It's pretty clear that Greta was born to play Alice in Wonderland. All she needed was the blue dress and white apron. The long blonde hair and fair skin were taken care of. I had my eye on this dress last year, but I knew it would be better when she was a little older.
Our cul-de-sac gathered for pizza before trick-or-treating, then we headed out on the candy voyage. Greta was amped. She scurried from house to house with her "twick or tweat" and "thank you" and telling them she was "Awice in Womberlam". We had a great time watching her. After covering a lot of ground, we headed back to the cul-de-sac to rejoin the neighbors by the fire pit. It was a great night.

Keever Family Getaway 2011
We made our 3rd annual trip to Brown County for a Keever Fall gathering. We found a new cabin for 2011 and enjoyed more space inside and out. As always, the scenery was beautiful and the company divine. Thanks for a spectacular little getaway, Mama and Papa K!
