Home Sweet Home
The last two weeks have been a blur. It is so hard to believe that just two short weeks ago we were still living in Lafayette. Now, after a one week stay in the Keever Inn, we have one week under our belt in the new house. The PODS have been emptied and taken away (Thank you, God!). The PODS worked great for us and our situation, but I never want to see another one as long as I live.
Now we are unpacking boxes and making our house a home. Painters come next week, furniture will be delivered this week, and there are many projects scheduled for both of our fathers. A big thanks for Mama and Papa K who came to stay for the weekend and worked their booties off. Mama spent two days cleaning baseboards, doors, and woodwork. And all the while, being the best Mimi she could be. Dad tackled the living room surround sound, whole house speaker system, and updating our light bulbs. Yes, updating our light bulbs. I knew he would have a definite opinion on this, so I put him on the case right away. Next up for him is updating our under cabinet lighting. Watch out Papa Roy and Grandma Teresa, your list is growing :)
We have a lot of fun projects on the agenda and it's so fun to watch our home become "ours" one step at a time. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in this transition.
